Prime Minister Adnan Menderes, in addition to his political career as a Member of Parliament who served as a member or chairman of budget planning committees for many years, and also as the owner of the Çakırbeyli farm in Aydın, was aware of the importance of agriculture and our agricultural potential. Therefore, during his time in power, he prioritized investments in the sector highlighted in this report. As a result, according to another study conducted in 1958, Turkey reached a level of development comparable to Italy, surpassing Greece, Portugal, and Spain during the same period.

Various governments that have held power since the Adnan Menderes era, while sometimes implementing policies in line with this perspective, have also sometimes prioritized different sectors in their economic policies. Unfortunately, due to the various socio-economic policies implemented without regard for the realities of the country, our nation has never been able to reach the level of developed, modern countries it aimed for. Our economic experiences have shown us that the agricultural sector is the main engine of our country’s development.

We, who are steeped in an agricultural family culture and who believe in this perspective put forth for our country; Driven by our desire to invest in agriculture and agricultural industry to the best of our ability, we began by purchasing a small olive oil processing plant named “ALTIN”. Later, by adding our surname to this name, we completed our establishment on June 6, 2000, under the name “ÖZALTIN ​​TARIM İŞLETMELERİ SANAYİ VE TİCARET A.Ş” at the address Dedeköy altı, Koçarlı District, Aydın Province.

With the strong knowledge, experience, and increased production capacity gained over the years in the fields of agriculture and agricultural industry, a new step has been taken in our corporate structure to manage our areas of activity more effectively and with a specialized approach.

In line with this, the goal is to make the seed production activities carried out within Özaltın Tarım more focused, specialized, and sustainable.

Within the scope of this strategic decision, our company has strengthened its organization by restructuring according to its areas of activity. With the General Assembly decision taken on March 5, 2026, it was decided that all activities related to plant production, agricultural management, and seed breeding, production, development, and marketing will be carried out under the umbrella of ÖZALTIN ​​TOHUM A.Ş.

Having completed its establishment process, our company officially commenced its operations on March 9, 2026, at its headquarters in Koçarlı district of Aydın province.

Today, Özaltın Tohum aims to contribute to the development of domestic seed production with its strong corporate heritage, technical expertise, and producer-focused approach, and to add value to our country’s agriculture with high-yielding and high-quality varieties.
