Breeding Studies

We are developing the seeds of the future with science.

Since initiating our R&D activities in 2004, we have established a strong research infrastructure in cotton seed breeding. Through our scientific approach, strong human resources, and strategic collaborations, we aim to develop new varieties that will increase yield, quality, and sustainability in agricultural production.

Our research activities are carried out within the scope of nationally supported projects and are strengthened by University-Industry-Public sector collaboration. In this context, with the contributions of consultants holding doctoral degrees or higher from various universities and public institutions, we have completed or are currently working on 7 TÜBİTAK-supported R&D projects.

Our research activities are conducted by our R&D team, consisting of over 20 expert technical personnel.

Registered as a “Private Sector Research Organization” by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in 2007, our company has created a strong and reliable gene bank containing more than 3,000 genotypes with different characteristics as a result of its long-term breeding efforts.

Our Genetic Resources

Our gene bank, created as a result of years of breeding work, contains more than 3,000 genotypes with different characteristics.

These genetic materials form the basis of our new variety development efforts in terms of high yield, quality, disease resistance, and environmental adaptation. Thanks to our strong genetic resources, we are developing new varieties that can adapt to different ecological conditions and meet the expectations of producers.

Our Plant Breeding Programs

As part of our R&D activities, we are conducting plant breeding programs on various plant species.

Cotton Breeding

Since 2004, we have been developing high-yielding, high-quality cotton varieties that can adapt to different ecological conditions. Fiber quality, yield potential, and disease resistance are the main focuses of our cotton breeding program.

Wheat Breeding

As of 2023, our R&D program includes wheat breeding studies aimed at developing new, high-yielding, and high-quality varieties that can adapt to different climate and soil conditions.

Our Breeding Process

The process of developing a new variety is the result of many years of scientific research. Our breeding programs consist of the following basic stages:

Genetic Material Development

Collecting, evaluating, and preserving genetic materials with different characteristics in our gene bank.

Hybridization
Studies

Controlled hybridization studies between selected parent lines to combine desired traits.

Selection
Process

The selection of individuals superior in terms of yield, quality, and resistance characteristics from among the plants obtained as a result of hybridization.

Field
Trials

Conducting multi-year field trials to evaluate the performance of selected lines in different locations and environmental conditions.

Variety
Registration Process

Official variety registration processes for high-performing lines, making them available to our producers.

Investing in the Future

With our approach that views scientific research as a fundamental element of production, we are resolutely continuing our R&D investments in line with our goal of sustainable agriculture and strong variety development. Our aim is to develop high-yielding, high-quality, and reliable seed varieties for our country’s and the world’s agriculture.
